This custom build at Wellington Point is on a steeply sloping site with significant slope stability issues with the land. The project had been turned down by many builders, but we are experts with even the most sloping sites.
More than 100 hours of planning went into the home, including extensive consultation with geotechnical and structural engineers. They countered the sloping site and stability issues by standing the house on steel posts above deep screw piers locked together with steel beams. Unsurprisingly, the build required meticulous planning and massive earthwork.
In the end, all that matters is that the process resulted in the home the owners dreamt of when they bought the block. The views across the bay are stunning, optimised by building to the maximum heights allowed by council and our placement of the outdoor areas — including a pool that sits three metres out of the ground at one end owing to the slope, and a yard that is flat because it’s decked.
